The opening requires Sharepoint Business Analysis and Tier 2 Support
experience. It is located in Cambridge, MA for a global pharmaceutical
company.

6-9 month consulting job.

Role

Sharepoint Business Analyst & Tier 2 Support

Description

Provide tier 2 SharePoint support and business analysis.

This role involves supporting associates with all SharePoint related
inquiries from support cases (that do not require server side intervention)
to helping our users leverage SharePoint to solve their business needs.

Responsibilities:

.Business analysis/tech. implementation (assess what the user wants to
achieve, and then use SharePoint knowledge to assist them in implementing a
solution)

.Solid experience in defining requirements via requirements (use cases,
flowcharts, etc.)

.Monitor tier 2 support tickets assigned to the SharePoint team and ensure
they are closed within the stated SLA

.Liaise with SharePoint team (developers, project manager) to complete
support cases that require developer/programmer assistance

.Usage questions (helping the end user with SharePoint functionality eg.
site creation/configuration, permissions)

.Connecting SharePoint with external data sources (eg. Oracle, SQL Server,
Web Services, Excel, Reporting Services)

.Working with our platforms team to copy/move/restore sites or content using
DocAve

.Assisting users with the use of our 3rd party tools: Nintex, Quest,
Lightning, K2, and Kwizcom

.Liaising with our platform support team (SharePoint admin team) where
necessary to complete support cases that require server intervention

.Manage relationship with tier 1 help desk team to ensure they are aware of
new application features, changes, known issues, etc.

.Assist with QA testing of new features / functionality added to the
SharePoint platform

The role is primarily a user-facing role that does not require development
work or SharePoint administration, although experience in these areas would
be beneficial as an aid to the overall understanding of SharePoint
technology.

Required Skills (Deep understanding)

.Must have excellent communication skills & ability to describe technical
concepts to non-technical people

.Must be able to provide excellent customer service to our end-users

.Excellent problem solving skills

.Purpose of SharePoint (What purpose does SharePoint serve to the business?
What functionality does it provide to different levels of user? (Readers,
Contributors, Site Admins)

.SharePoint 2007 browser based usage/configuration

.Configuration of SharePoint 2007 out-of-box web parts (eg. Content Editor
Web Part)

.SharePoint 2007 Security model (groups, permission levels, permissions)

Skills (Good understanding)

.SharePoint 2007 Administration (Installation, configuration (central
admin))

.SharePoint 2007 LOB Data integrations (eg. BDC, Web Services, Excel
Services, Reporting Services)

.SharePoint 2007/Office 2007 integrations

.SharePoint Designer 2007 (site customization, working with data views,
master page customization)

.InfoPath 2007

.General understanding of web technologies

Desirable Skills

. DocAve (backup/restore for SharePoint)

. Nintex Workflow

. K2

. Quest Web Parts

. Lightning tools web parts

. Kwizcom web parts

. Understanding of the SharePoint Object Model/API

. Existing knowledge and/or a strong desire to learn SharePoint 2010
