Position Responsibilities – Summary

The Manager of Procurement (IS) will provide expertise in the
drafting/development, negotiation and management of complex technology
related contracts; managing continuous process improvements and resolving
complex issues/problems regarding supplier performance.
This position will support the firm's Information Services (IS) organization
working closely with the IS Executive Leadership team, Project Managers,
Systems Analysts and Team Leaders. Proven ability to proactively bring
ideas and strategic concepts to the IS leadership team that will help
improve and grow the function, identify patterns within the contracts and IS
Procurement process and align with industry trends.
Contracts within this category include: application licensing, development,
maintenance and support, IT consulting services, as well as contracts
related to infrastructure support (telecom, hardware purchases). Additional
responsibilities include implementing, issuing and analyzing formal RFPs.

Responsibilities – Detailed:

· Develop, negotiate, and manage technology contracts, including
those with significant complexity and risk or potential liability to the
firm.
· Manage multiple projects/contracts simultaneously and provide
ongoing service level delivery
· Communicate on a continuous basis with internal clients by
providing project status and analysis throughout contract development and
negotiations
· Reduce expenditure levels through contract negotiations
· Coordinate, develop and manage the RFP/RFI process and facilitate
the analysis, evaluation of proposals and recommendations by the RFP team
· Manage assigned contracts during and after negotiations to ensure
compliance by the contracting parties
· Work with vendors and internal clients to identify and research
problems relevant to contractual obligations and develop corrective action
plans for issue resolution.
· Improve quality, service, and vendor accountability, and help
develop alternate sourcing strategies
· Implement and manage standards for vendor management to insure
adherence to corporate policy and legal requirements
· Manage performance and development of 1 staff member

Keys to This Position:

1. We are seeking a Tactical and Strategic IT Procurement Manager that is
focused on 3 main areas: Software, Hardware and Telecom.
2. The majority of the candidate's experience should be with the major IT
players (i.e. Microsoft, IBM, HP, EMC, Cisco, Verizon, Avaya, Symantec,
etc.)
3. The majority of the candidate's experience should be in Software
licensing.
4. We are looking for a candidate that can offer tactical day to day
procurement services but also can introduce Best Practices on a more
strategic level.
5. This individual will have strong Contract Negotiation skills and work
well in a fast paced, high volume (up to 300 contracts per year for 2
people) environment. Strong RFP and Vendor Management skills are also
important.
6. This individual will manage one other person.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Ten or more years experience in technology related
Procurement/Strategic Sourcing (including hardware and software)
· Experience working with the major service providers in the
software, hardware and telecom industries.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and contract
negotiations
· Strong problem solving techniques, ability to clearly communicate
issues with all levels of the organization
· Strong negotiation and communication skills are fundamental
requirements of the role
· A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced academic credentials
(such as an MBA or JD) are not required, but would be viewed favorably
· Strong knowledge of business law as it relates to contract issues
would be considered highly desirable in this role.
· A deep knowledge of the Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management
process.
· Demonstrated ability to handle increasing levels of
responsibility, as well as strong written, presentation, time management and
organizational skills
