Job Description: *Full Time Direct Hire position: Candidates will be responsible for managing the successful technical operation of our customer's production trading and back office systems. This person will work very closely with our customer's Help Desk, Software Development, Business Strategy Group and the general customer base. The major areas of responsibility include:
· Operating and monitoring the production software applications in a mission critical, high volume, real-time transaction processing environment.
· Operating and monitoring production server hardware, networking and data center environments to ensure efficient system operation
· Participate in managing the change control process, implementation and fallback planning, business continuity planning and supporting periodic User Acceptance Testing
· Providing, managing and facilitating customer service and technical support for functional testing, connectivity, configuration and troubleshooting
Qualifications:
· Working experience of command, control and monitoring of production systems
· Knowledge of the LINUX command line interface
· Knowledge of system operation best practices
· Knowledge of using a job scheduler/workload automation application like TIDAL a plus
· Some knowledge of communications protocols such as TCP/IP, Multicast and UDP
· Knowledge of FIX session management and the OPRA, CTS & UTP market data feed protocols a plus
· Some knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl a plus
· Good troubleshooting skills and excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work effectively as an individual or within a team
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/Computer Science
2+ years of experience as a technical operator in a real-time systems environment
1+ years of working in operations or support in a trading systems environment a plus
Knowledge of equity or options products is a plus

Location: New Haven, CT
Duration: 9 months
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Tivoli Storage Administrator to perform
backup and storage administration supporting mission-critical systems in the
24/7/365 data centers.
Essential Duties:
1. Monitor backup and storage systems and components to ensure
capacity, performance and availability.
2. Consult with clients on backup/restore issues and incidents.
3. Coordinate with business units to provision storage as required.
4. Perform storage and backup related software installs and upgrades.
5. Assist in special projects such as capacity replacements,
architecture improvements and DR exercises.
6. Some off-shift work with rotating on-call coverage.
Required Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in 24/7/365 data
center environments; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
2. Three years of experience supporting IBM Tivoli Storage Management
(TSM) backup servers in a large enterprise infrastructure with multiple TSM
services and tape libraries.
Preferred Experience:
1. Three years supporting Netapp NAS hardware and software, preferably
in a mission-critical environment.
2. Experience with EMC Isilon scale-out NAS or similar large scale,
node based storage.
3. Experience with Cisco SAN switch hardware and software.
4. Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI) protocols.
5. Understanding of storage components such as device drivers, HBAs and
multi-pathing software.
6. Experience in the use of data replication tools for disaster
recovery and data migrations.
7. Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and AIX servers.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office for data collection and
analysis.
