 have a client looking for an E-Commerce Development Manager in NYC.

I've listed the requirements for the position below.

As Manager of e-Commerce Application Development, expected to create and drive the key architecture in and around our e-tail systems; manage a team of currently five developers (and growing); write lots of code; understand complex systems; partner with business stakeholders to develop functional specifications; drive development, oversee deployment; and, actively ensure the highest quality code, testing, and usage experience. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Leading e-commerce technology initiatives including web site development, ERP integration, customer service integration, and marketing programs.

•Architecting site technology, particularly to enhance catalog management, shopping experience, user community, marketing capabilities, and scalability.

•Actively managing the e-commerce application development team to ensure they write amazing code and documentation and are using the best principles you help to set.

•Writing amazing code and even better documentation

•Working closely with VP of Technology to achieve the business' strategy and objectives

•Working with key external vendors and partners

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

•7+ Years Software Development in Java

•7+ Years Relational Database Experience (be a data master)

•4+ Years E-Commerce Software Development (consumer retail strongly preferred)

•4+ Software Architecture Experience

•4+ Years Tomcat Application Server

•4+ Years JavaScript

•2+ Years Spring Framework

•2+ Years Team Management

CHARACTERISTICS

•Perfectly comfortable in Windows, OS X, or Linux

•Experience developing high quality test plans

•Experience with Opentaps, OFBiz platforms a serious plus

•Experience with ERP implementations helpful

•Experience working in high transaction environments and web sites

•Experience with scaling techniques: load balancing, caching, optimization, etc.

•Great knowledge of open source universe

•Experience managing other developers and being a wonderful teammate

•Experience working on community sites
