Hi John -

I would like to alert you that you still have listed on the meeting announcement that there is a cash bar - there isn't anymore and I would suggest taking that off.  I was also wondering if there is any chance of getting ice tea, soda or bottled water at the meeting since most people don't like Danbury water?  If the only option is water could we ask for some lemon?

See you tonight.

Free Book! plus answers to your questions!

Posted by: "Ron Katz" ronhrkatz@yahoo.com   ronhrkatz

Thu May 13, 2010 10:12 am (PDT)

Just a reminder that if you would like to submit a question in advance of the May 17th meeting you can send them to me at:
RonHRKatz@yahoo.com

In addition, I will be raffling off a copy of my new book "Someone's Gonna Get Hired...It Might As Well Be You!" at the meeting.

Should you not be the lucky winner, copies of the book will be available for sale at a discount from the list price of $15.95. Only $13.00 at the May 17th meeting. Please note, this special price will only be for purchases at the meeting. So if you needed one more reason to come, there it is!

"Everything you always wanted to know about job hunting but didn’t know who to ask"

Most job seekers are plagued by doubts at some point in their search? Whether it’s “adjusting” the dates on your resume to the timing of your follow-up calls, wouldn’t it be great if there was someone you could ask? Here’s your chance.

On May 17th, Ron Katz, the author of Someone’s Gonna Get Hired...It Might As Well Be You!will be at the Westchester Networking Organization to answer your questions.

* Should I have an Objective, a Summary, or the newly popular Value Statement?
* When’s the best time to bring up salary? What should I do if I’m asked for a figure?
* Can my resume be more than one page?
* Is social networking really effective? Which site should I be on?
* How can I network more effectively?
* Am I ever going to find a job?

These are just examples of the kinds of questions Ron’s been asked and will answer at the May meeting. You are encouraged to bring your questions to this open forum style session. The focus this month is on you. What do you want to know, what do you want to talk about.

I'll see you there!
Only the best,
Ron

People often make snap judgments about our effectiveness and potential
based on how well we communicate. Are you delivering consistent
messages in both what you say and how you say it? How are you
showcasing your employment strengths and positive qualities?

TCN's May 24th meeting will feature a talk by special guest Barbara
Szala, who will present:

"How to Communicate a Consistent Message That Showcases the Best YOU"

Barbara will lead an interactive session focusing on how to cultivate
your communication style and skills. She will offer tips to help you
enhance your job search capabilities by drawing on your own natural
talents. You'll have the opportunity to get personalized coaching on
how to project those intangible qualities--social poise, presence,
focus, energy, appropriate appearance--that immediately create a
positive impression and win over your potential employers.

TCN / Temple Community Network Meeting
Monday, May 24th, 7:00–9:00 pm
Barnert Temple, 747 Route 208 South, Franklin Lakes, NJ

manages client relationships for affiliated business consultants.

We look forward to seeing you at Barnert Temple on Monday, May 24th
for our look at communicating consistent messages. RSVPs are not
required. Please feel free to arrive at 6:30pm for extra open
networking time, and bring a friend!

Next month, we will meet on June 28th (4th Monday, as usual) featuring
