Position: Network Administrator

Job Summary:
Responsible for the Credit Union's network infrastructure and services. Assists with planning and coordination of projects and services that rely on network operations. Must be responsible, self-motivated and take initiative. Must be able to work well alone and in a team.
Responsibilities:
• Install, build, configure and maintain the networking infrastructure in a production datacenter environment.
• Design, configure and maintain a global network services implementation
• Promote system reliability and efficiency by creating and implementing system standards and operational best-practices; provide technical leadership in design and administration decisions for networking systems
• Facilitate the planning of component and feature upgrades, and plan & participate in scheduled off-hours service outage upgrades
• Perform and document system operations processes and procedures including installation and testing of network upgrades, failover, and configuration
• Communicate issues clearly to business and technical groups within the company
• Enforce operational network security guidelines and procedures
• Provides secondary support for Infrastructure systems (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, monitoring, etc.).
• Participate in 7/24 on-call schedule
• Available to work the occasional weekend and/or evenings for scheduled maintenance and updates.
Qualifications:
• Requires a 2 year Computer Science or related technical degree
• 5 years current experience implementing and supporting local and wide area networks in mission-critical production Microsoft Windows centered datacenter environments.
• 3 years of designing, configuring, and troubleshooting networks built on the Cisco router and switching platforms.

• 2 years configuration experience on Cisco Router IOS and Cisco Switch IOS.
• 5 years experience in enterprise level networking with knowledge in the following areas: TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF and BGPv4, etc), snmp.
• Direct experience with carrier-based MPLS networks and traffic engineering.
• Direct experience with firewall, VPN and proxy technology, design, deployment and support.
• Detailed knowledge of layers 1-4 and associated equipment
Competencies
