Platform Architect – Software Development
Middlesex County, NJ
E – Commerce/Container Shipping
$120k base + bonus

Description: the Platform Architect works partly as an enterprise architect, partly as a solution architect and a little as software architect. In support of satisfying business problems with technology solutions, the platform architect:

· Develops 1 to 3 year technology roadmaps.

· Evaluates technologies and products.

· Develops and maintains standards and guidelines.

· Leads technology integration.

· Advises teams on software architecture.
The Platform Architect must be skilled in enterprise architecture and solution architecture practices that fit mid sized organizations. The successful candidate will be a technical leader, team player and a strong and persuasive technologist.
Current job titles for candidates maybe solution architect, enterprise architect, platform architect, SOA architect.
Responsibilities:

· Develops multi – year capability and technology roadmaps.

· Select and evaluate technologies.

· Architect common integration platforms.

· Develop, review and maintain principles, standards and guidelines.

· Manages technology life cycle inventory.

· Drive to practical delivery and implementation.
Requirements:

· 8 + years of IT experience with a development/ design background.

· Technology integration experience.

· SOA architecture/ design experience.

· Worked in smaller product development of Software-as- a-Service companies with heavy technology focus.

· Strong understanding of architectural principles.

· E – commerce/web experience in Java environments.

· Good mix of solid theory and a record of practical delivery.

· Experience in high – availability, high performance environments is a plus.
BS in computer science or related technical discipline, MS a plus.
