Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6 Months Contract
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Information Service Group (ISG) of Chartis is currently seeking a Business Analyst to understand their Commercial Insurance Underwriting Unit's business processes and requirements and then translate them into requirements documentation.  This position is part of the strategic Chartis UW IT Strategic Program. The candidate should be expert in the methodology of requirements elaboration.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:
6-10 years of Business Analyst experience, plus formal training/certification in Use Case Documentation with expertise in:  UML: Use Case Diagram, UML: Use Case Model, Fully Dressed Use Case System Use Case vs Business Use Cases, Use Case Scenarios, Primary and Alternate Use Case Extensions, Sub Use Cases, As defined in Alistair Cockburn's, Writing Effective Use Cases.
·Commercial Insurance Domain Experience is a plus, but not required.
·Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
·Must have participated or lead Business Analyst teams of 3 or more.
·Must have experience in Business Requirement GAP analysis to support new system development or significant enhancements to existing systems.
·Must take ownership of deadlines and commitments.
·Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Visio.
·Ability to transform complex business processes into simple-to-comprehend business requirements using primarily Fully Dressed Use Cases.
·Ability to shape unstructured and disjointed data into cohesive business requirements. This skill relies upon root cause analysis capabilities.
·Ability to analyze and document business requirements through Business Domain Models, Business Process Maps, Use Cases, Mockups, Prototypes, and Data Dictionaries. These skills will be used within a large program of work to develop strategic cutting edge UW systems and sunset legacy systems. Candidate will apply knowledge of system capabilities and business needs and work with development team to identify system solutions.
·Ability to conducts system testing, quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing, and user training sessions as needed to support functional and maintenance releases.
·Ability to communicate and interfaces effectively with business units, technology teams and support teams and individuals at all levels of the organization to understand and document requirements (such as functional, interface, and GUI designs).
